How to Make the Most of Performance Evaluations
Rumors of the demise of the Performance Evaluation are greatly exaggerated. The out dated model of year end reviews, often delivered late and including little actionable feedback has to go. Managers hate doing them and employees get little out of them, but we shouldn’t throw the proverbial baby out with the bathwater. In this presentation we’ll get back to basics. Why are we doing reviews? How does the “year end model” fail to deliver on those expectations? How can we approach performance management differently and improve the return on our efforts? The message isn’t a new one, but it’s worth repeating; Clear Expectations (starting at the top and cascading throughout the organization), Communication (plus communication and more communication), Timely Feedback (daily, weekly, monthly) and No Year-End Surprises. Strategically evaluating and implementing these steps will help you make the most of your performance evaluations. This will be an interactive session so come ready to share your experiences!
